Our neighborhood is a great, interactive place to live because of our neighbors.

Each month, one NEPNA household will be highlighted so you’ll recognize another NEPNA
neighbor while fishing at one of our waterfront parks, riding bikes along our livable streets to a
game at Northeast Little League, or visiting one of our neighborhood businesses. Any household
can be highlighted – just let us know if you’d like to be next and we’ll take care of the rest.

The Stanton Family

When you recommend to a friend that your neighborhood would be a great place to live and that they should consider moving to your area, it is a fine compliment to the neighborhood. But when you recommend to several members of your family that they should consider moving to your neighborhood, it's a testament not only to the neighborhood, but also to the family.

Stay with me here – this tree has many branches ... Jeremy and Melissa Stanton moved to Northeast Park – across the street from Melissa's sister Julie (both Lakewood High grads – go Spartans!) and her family on 41st Avenue Northeast in 2001. Melissa and Julie's parents moved into the house next to Melissa and subsequently combined backyards to form an absolute tropical oasis complete with pool, gazebo, decks, and incredibly lush vegetation. Earlier this year, it was Jeremy's turn. His brother and fiancé moved into the house across the street from Melissa and Julie's parents' house, thus completing a four-fold stronghold of the Stanton / Schramek / Fisher family in Northeast Park.

And we are certainly fortunate to have them all living in our neighborhood.

Jeremy and Melissa are raising three beautiful children (Marshal, Taylor, and Derrick) and two companion dogs (Mila and Ty). Jeremy works for our regional utility company - Progress Energy. Melissa is a do-it-all mother to their three children - formerly serving as the PTA president of North Shore Elementary and now working on opening her own business within the next year(!).
So what makes Northeast Park so desirable that the Stantons would suggest that other members of their families move here? For starters, it's that so many children live in the neighborhood, so their children’s friends are plentiful and close. Crisp Park is a huge attraction – the Stantons walk to the park. The variety, close proximity, and quality of neighborhood businesses has also been a boon, with the Stantons supporting the restaurants and stores close to home.

We'll be hearing more from the Stantons over the next several months. Melissa has proposed an idea to distribute local parenting resources to other NEPNA parents (stay tuned for this!). In the meantime, introduce yourself to Jeremy and Melissa and the rest of their wonderful family next time you’re at Crisp Park or at one of our NEPNA Monthly Meetings.
