NEPNA Wins Four Neighborhood Awards!
Among all the neighborhoods in the City of St. Petersburg, Northeast Park received four individual awards (Wow!) during the 2009 Mayor’s 13th Annual Neighborhood Partnership Awards Ceremony. Here’s a rundown of the hardware:
- Communications – Best Website (link)
- District 3 and District 4 City Council Achievement Award
- President of the Year – Honorable Mention
- NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE YEAR! (Award shared with Yacht Club Estates)
This is a big moment for Northeast Park! We are gaining recognition (we are earning recognition) from the City of St. Petersburg because of the selfless, positive actions of many of our neighbors. So thanks to all who continue to make Northeast Park a great place to call home.
[Soap Box] 2009 was focused on building a foundation to improve our neighborhood. It started with establishing an effective means of communication (website, email database), developing a proactive and positive approach in our interactions with city staff, and thinking on a bigger scale when planning neighborhood improvements or activities. Being recognized for this shift in our neighborhood gives us tremendous momentum for 2010 to move ahead with some of our initiatives (e.g., neighborhood circulation plan) or to initiate new ones (more social events).
