Dog Days of Summer Party Declared a Success!

The Dog Days of Summer was an Outstanding Event for Northeast Park!

The party was everything NEPNA Leadership had hoped it would be – a way to celebrate the beginning of summer with hundreds of our neighbors making new friends and enjoying the great food and activities provided by our generous sponsors (listed below). Suffice it to say that this will become an annual event – and it won’t be the last party NEPNA hosts!

[Soapbox] This party is emblematic of what NEPNA Leadership envisions for Northeast Park. It was amazing to see hundreds of our neighbors coming together for a positive event. We live in a fantastic neighborhood – and can focus our talents on making our streets more pedestrian friendly; improving two of the best parks in the city; designating our neighborhood with distinctive signage, lamp posts, and public art; or planning our next big event …

And now a message from our sponsors …

St. Petersburg Association of Firefighters – Local 747 - Donated and grilled over 300 hot dogs and provided chips and over 400 drinks – plus two engines from Station No. 4 (set up by Council Member Bill Dudley).

Tour de Pizza – Our local pizza shop in NE Shopping Center donated over 320 slices of their addictive pizza and 200 garlic knots.

Council Member Leslie Curran – Volunteered to provide arts and crafts materials for children, which became so popular, she had to rush out and purchase more supplies!

City of St. Petersburg TASCO – The ceterpieces of the party – music, (the most incredible) slip and slide (ever), and bounce house run by TASCO staff Kaison, Yoser, Haley, and Greg.

Chick-fil-A – Provided the best brownies known to mankind and two dancing cows.

NEPNA is hosting the inaugural Dog Days of Summer Party at Crisp Park – June 6th 11:00am to 2:00pm. Celebrate the end of the school year and meet your neighbors. Free arts and crafts, bounce house, slip and slide, music, and food. There’s no better way to celebrate the start of summer!

We’re looking forward to seeing our neighbors at the party. And to get everyone motivated (not that anyone needs motivation), here’s one of the most bizarre videos ever produced in the history of humanity – Alice Cooper singing School’s Out for Summer with the Muppets:
